Waiting room Water Dance

I found myself in a waiting room this morning, so took the opportunity to sketch some intertwining ovals in my sketchbook. When I finished the repeated pattern, it reminded me rippling water. I decided to call it "Water Dance." I hope you like it!

A simple walk produces a pattern of leaves

I was walking back from the library where I had been doing some research and sketching for my circus collection when I happened upon some fallen eucalyptus leaves on the sidewalk. They all had such different shapes and were perfectly flat which intrigued me. I picked them up and brought them home. Then after a jaunt on my scanner, and a little alakazam and abracadabra...

It's a Circus!

My latest design comes from some fun characters that popped up in my sketch book a while back. I'm giving them the spot light to shine in my latest pattern design. Hope you like "Circus Party!"

Feeling fresh and fruity!

I did this quick sketch a while ago and liked how the the quick sketchy pen in-fills looked. I decided to see how I could use it on a whole tossed "fruit salad" pattern. With this yummy bright colored palette, I think it turned out pretty nice. Does it make you salivate or want to juggle your nearest pile of fruit?

Lazy Daisys & Paisleys

I love creating paisleys. There are so many different design elements that you can add to the basic paisley curved teardrop shape to make them uniquely yours. Here are a couple that I created in my sketchbook. Matched with a whimsical daisy, I think this pattern came out fresh and fun! I hope you like it, too.

Sketch drawn with micron black pens and a brush pen.

daisies and the background. Fun!

Whimsical doodling is fun!

I was day dreaming and doodling during my son's piano lesson which led to this pattern. He must have been playing a jazzy piece. Now looking at it, the pattern kind of reminds me notes dancing in and out of each other.
